Hi there,

I'm Waffles, I've been playing UO since Renaissance (I quit for a while until Stygian Abyss came out and then stopped last year and recently picked it back up)

There are so many changes that i'm trying to relearn how to play. Love the Imbuing Calculator and i can access this site from work. So i'll be spending some time here :)

Hi I am new. Are there still folks here? Most of the posts seem old but that doesn't always mean anything. I really like the website layout and the tools on here will be very useful.

Dear Drachenfels Players and Knucklehead Members and Visitors :-)

I also like to take the chance saying "Hello" and state a short introduction of myself.

I started playing Ultima Online ages ago, fells like that - and still love it (the game and the community and world). Actually I was buying the UO9 box (if I remember well) and UO was like included ... also at the first client launch I did not really like it well or was confused ... I got interested when a mate at work told me stories about the game that made me interested (something like if you leave the town you get robbed - horror stories like that).

On the 2nd day I met the most nicest fellow Lady (Tuginda - in case she ever reads it here :-)) ... and what can I say ... it turned out to be a visit spanning over years (and I am still in contact with the Lady ... via Facebook and ICQ ... and I learned she also started out again on Drachenfels recently, how nice is that).

For years I was always playing on the Drachenfels Shard, mainly as "Calimerion" as a member of a German based guild called "Dragon Clan" ... what I always liked most had been Player driven events and writing about them (mostly in German) ... for all those year I did not even max out the Skills at my main, only done that when having been a bit bored.

I mentally left UO around the end of the Counselor Program (where I took part at the end) ... the Guild was not really active anymore by then as well - so it felt like nothing much left to do ... recently I opened a char at Atlantics, and was instantly blown again by the game and the community it offers (also the large playerbase at Atlantics is impressive honestly).

However playing at the States fells like "so far way" ... community and mentally feeling wise (and also technically in terms of ping it was an issue sometime to move) ... I have now moved my new main (named "Riondil") to Drachenfels and already took part at one of the EM held events over here and chatted a bit with some players.

And I am so blasted ... I loooooove being home ... wandering around at Sosaria in the mornings (with a cup of coffee :-)), enjoying the beauty, the players and the world ... what can be more nice ... for me a (local) community it the reason for being part in the world, what provides the fun and drive.

A bit more personal to myself ... I am 40 years old (young?), have 2 wonderful kids (aged 2 and 10) and a wonderful wife (which btw. is not into UO) ... given that my playtime is nowadays much more "flexible" compared to when being like 20, when I was playing more like "always" and "all day" ... I always prefer my kids and close the client when my daughter needs my attention ... so in case you ever wander with me, it might be that I have to leave ... please don't be angry then.

Other then that ... I am still looking for a nice guild with a spot for an old player (preferably with wheelchair provided) ... I am not a roleplayer per se, but enjoy community over everything - and PvM ... I also like PvP in terms of loving that it exists in the world (I loved chasing red ones ... so far the only one I killed was really only: 1 ... I think his client was disconnected, lol) - in terms of me being good at PvP ... not really :-)

I remember we also did Auctions with the Dragon Clan ... it was a fun being part of the "security" to prevent people killing horses and stuff (was still in Fel way back then).

Ok well ... typed so much already, work calls :-) ... which you a nice day all!

Riondil

Welcome back, and thanks for the intro.

TBH though our forums are not that active, and havent really been so ever.

Since you are german, there is a german languaged forum over at http://uob.zarum.de/forum/ and a (very) larger english community over at http://stratics.com/

Not that we don't want you here, cause we do, but you might find the lack of new replies/posts/threads depressing. :)

God speed on your journeys in Sosaria :)

Haha ... as long as you don't mind me posting strange things ... or just ignore me when I am writing too much :-)

On a sidenote ... are DK still accepting ingame members? ... basically I am looking for a way to get access to the Alliance Chat, for Tuginda and me.

Was wandering around this morning, and I think I was the only player on the server literally :-) ... global chat as well is a bit slow ... to bad I am away on the weekend (family trip), so I might also miss the event on Sunday (am about to cry *g*).

Hey Riondil,

I still recall the DC days... Specially the auction that got distburbed by $$:
Wasn't Zaral's best day ;)

Glad you have fun on DF - You should really join one of the ally-guilds.
We are accepting new members. I will try to get in touch with you ingame (on monday then). If I shall forget you, drop me a line here.

Have a nice weekend

Hello ... I am back ... and tired ... was late yesterday ( employeer - please don't read here :-)).

Thank you Siward! ... dropped you an eMail with my ICQ ( actually I'm updating the profile here likewise ) ... not sure how widespread that is still being used.

I am astonished I still remembered my ICQ # ... I am far better with numbers then names ... ask me the name of the char I met this morning ? .. yeah well ... had 2 arms :-)

Anway ... Mooonday! *gosh*.
