I have a staff of pyros, which I forgot.
Will do for my test.
I want to see what the use may be of anatomy + eval int on my mage in PVE.
So tnx for the idea, can already test wit pyros.

although i probably still want a magi staff anyways :)

the anti fizzling from anatomy + evalint only applies if hands empty or spellbook.

mhhh so spellbook + shield? does that work?
And I read that a weapon was needed to use the defensive effect of ana + eval which should be comparable to wreste, only without the offensive advantage from wrestling

Doesn't the Anatomy+Eval just give wrestling or am I missing something here? :)

As far as I know (Eval+Anatomy+20) / 2 = wrestling.. So 220 points combined in the two skills would give Legendary wrestling.

Maybe I'm just misunderstanding the subject.... wouldn't be the first time.. ;)

But anywho, I might have a staff lying around in a chars bankbox somewhere. I'll look for it!

You guys posted while I was typing.. Grrr..

But as Gil said.. A book or empty hands works for defending and attacking (less fizzle).. DCI works also.. Can equip a shield aswell no problem..

ana + eval int + 20 / 2 = anti fizzle effect of wrestling or any weapon skill with proper weapon equipped.. dont expect to hit anything.. :p

Important thing to note though is that you don't have the special abilities from wrestling using the eval+ana combination. So no disarm og stun. ;)
Mainly it's just to get the extra 20 skill points to maximize your template.

well it gives only the depensive perks of wrestling not the assult capabilities, so saying its = wrestling is wrong :p

We were talking about the defense rating.. ;)
So in that area it does equal wrestling.

I was indeed looking for the defensive effect.
And then I want to see what the effect of the mage weapons is. since if I understand correctly the mage weapon property should give some offensive capabilities linked to the weapons. So macing for the staffs

Yes.. Mage Weapon will use your magery skill as a weapon skill.. Again you wont benefit from the special abilities, but you will get both hit and defense from it! So obviously you'll save more skill points by using a mage weapon!

Love it on my tamers and bards to take care of small critters.

yes what stephen said, dont bother with ana if you going to use a mageweapon, then you get the effect of the weapon = your mageskill - mageweapon value, in staff of magi case the value is 0 so you get mage skill = weapon skill, but defence and offense :)
