Many strange tales have been told about the monsters dwelling in the deep seas – some of them might be true, others don´t seem to be very credible. About one year ago some pirates from Buc´s Den told ol´ Henry that they have encountered a beast that outmatches every living or undead being they have ever met on their journeys on the Sosarian seas.

The poor guys were deeply frightened when they entered the Blue Monkey, Henry´s favorite bar at that time. Although he was very drunk, he remembers the atmosphere of their talk: The bunch of mean cut-throats fearful whispered about a huge crab-like demon that kills with one hit, that spits evil energy and dirty eels – a monster that was able to kill all of their friends within seconds and destroyed three mighty ships without any effort. One of the pirates broke out in tears and the others were not able to continue with their report – their experiences were far too horrifying…

Henry didn´t mind very much, he had other things to care about in this night: He fell asleep after two bottles of some strange liquor and forgot to pay the girl that helped him falling asleep – “if yar know what I mean, har har!” So Henry found himself lying on some strange road in the wilderness and forgot about the pirates´ story…

Yesterday, however, it happened that this almost lost memory was pulled out of the darkest corner of his rotten mind: His fellow Knuckleheads Miracles and Loony found some fabulous fishing nets of which some old fishermen said that they would open the doors to the deepest abyss in the Sosarian oceans – nets that would be able to provoke a demon called “Osiredon the Scalis Enforcer” to come up from the deep sea and kill every living being! The fishermen told them not to use these nets as Osiredon was the one of the mightiest monsters in the world…

Well, Henry knew that this wouldn´t stop Miracles or Loony – nor Cheech or Imana – from using the nets. In contrary, he knew that they would love this challenge… As he himself suffered from a severe hangover (again), he wasn´t able to join his DK-brothers and -sisters. But he remembered that his brother Alz was always searching for opportunities to encounter death, as he is a master in the art of necromancy and doesn´t care about dying… In contrast, Alz loves death very much. Dying is Alz´s hobby and he wrote his dissertation thesis on “Undead and their lust for live – a case study based on self-experiments”. So, Alz was very happy that he was invited to join a nice little fishing party at the shores of Britannia.

When the party reached the docks, Miracles instantly began to throw out her nets and it didn’t take long and it appeared: Osiredon! He was a huge turquoise colored beast with tentacles and crab-arms and attacked the creatures Miracles, Cheech, Loony, Imana and Alz had summoned for their protection…

A fierce fight began – a fight that took about one hour. First, it seemed that the monster didn´t get any damage at all… Neither colossus, not fireballs, nor stone-bombs seemed to harm him. The brave knuckleheads, however, had to realize some severe losses. Most of them died at least one or two times. Alz, the one man-suicide squad, always seeking for death-experiences and standing in the front line, managed to die 21 (!) times within two hours.

Adventurers, be prepared when trying to fight Osiredon: He can attack groups in a wide range with evil spells, he hits hard when meeting him directly in combat (which is a very silly idea) and he spawns eels that undermine all magic efforts as long as you don’t get rid of them. You have to take care that there are always enough summoned beasts attacking him and that you have free hands for casting spells on him – which means that you should slay these eels instantly. And you should not care about dying nor about looting your own body – you won´t have a chance to come close to it. Equip yourself and don’t try to get your stuff out of your dead body while naked… Alz loved this experience – but it is not the kind of behavior that helps a group defeating this boss!

But in the end, the brave Knuckleheads were able to kill Osiredon. His dead body was full of treasures, he carried about 10.000 pieces of gold and many valuable items. However, nobody got any artifacts as a reward for killing him twice. So, there are some lessons that can be learned:

  • First, you can believe what is being told about the High Seas. Osiredon exists and he is one of the hardest monsters you will ever meet in Britannia.
  • Second, you can defeat him with good tactics and a crew of brave people – but you shouldn´t try it alone!
  • Third, you should not come to close to his crab-arms and you should take care of his eels.
  • Fourth, you should not encounter him naked!
  • Fifth, it is wise not to fight him with a hangover – Henry was quite happy that he didn´t leave his bed!

Cheers!

New strategy: Fire around the water and boil him to death! That way we can also have a great feast when we celebrate our victory..
