This guide is designed to give some usefull tips for how using assist, and give some nice clues as to what this is, and why its a must to have when playing ultima online.

Installing AssistTo get assist you go to
http://www.tugsoft.com and click "Get It Now!" then follow the steps as it shows on that page. It is recommended that you put an assist shortcut where you can find it, as you will use it often, cause you will no longer launch the uo via the uo shortcut. Launching Assist will load assist update dialoge then the uo patch dialog.. the implementing the assist software into the client creating a second window called UOAssist - *Char Name* this is where all assist things are made unless you set keys for shortcuts then will be overwritten from the Clients shortcuts.. eg if you use an F key ingame and the same F key on assist the function ingame will no longer work unless you check "pass onto uo"
Getting Registration KeyGetting registration key is very simple, provided you have one.. simple go to the assist window and hit the "?" botton lower right corner.. that will bring up a windows where you pick Registration.. Then another window will pop up with a very wide botton called "To begin registration log into the game then press this botton (web browser required)" after hitting that a browser will open and simply submit your seed if you are already registerd or register/get trial if you arent. If registered a key will display after submitting the seed, that key you must copy into the key area (note several keys can be used by pressing the botton next to key field)
Making/using MacrosTo make a macro go to macro tab, select a macro then hit Record and do what you want recorded ingame, then stop it.. and set things like item or target types, target relative or put pauses in there if needed.. play around with it a bit.. if assist goes into "waiting for response from server mode" you are missing a pause somewhere.
Usage of AgentsThere are many nice agents that come with assist.. a few of those can can be mentioned are the recycle agent which in a set bag recycles all possible within bag, this comes in 2 variations.. melt and unravel.. melt is for metal obviously and unravel is for tailoring stuff.
Key AssignmentWhen setting keys make sure they dont conflict with any ingame macros, this can be somewhat tricky from time to time.. but its doable, i myself sometimes have a piece of paper on my side if I did some major overhaul on my macros just to get to know them again.
