There was an EM Event today.

The objective was to have boats fighting each other, There was so confusion as to the how, where and whats in this regard building the crews for ship, but none the less we got some ships going!

I was on the first ship crew to leave counselor's hall. With Scorpio as captain (Most people know him as Frarc)

Destination: Lost Lands in felluca

Since i had little to no experience shooting cannons, i was appointed steerman.

Rules was simple:
  • No shooting untill a sign we were allowed to do so.
  • Only cannons allowed to be used, no player-to-player attacks
  • Not allowed to repair the ship
  • .. However you were allowed to heal your crewmen, should they take damage from cannons.

But, these well laid plans went up in smokes.. or should we say, faded to grey tones. (pun intended) as D! from Council of Mages faction desided they wanted to have some fun killing blue event contenders.

And they continued to herass the contenders after being asked to stop by our Event Moderator.

So in the end we did not get the ship battle like we wanted. but we did get a very appropiate sash regardless.

Thanks for the effort of EM Borbarad and an Elder EM Present also for trying to save the event, but without success.

EM Borbarad promised there would be no more Felluca events.

You can follow the EM Events for drachenfels on The Drachenfels Event Moderator's Page

Greetings
Gilmour

Now.. First let me establish some basic facts! :D
  • I wasn't part of this event
  • I don't know 100% of what happened
  • I don't support PK's
  • I don't PVP
  • I've played UO for a long time

Now that we have that down, what I have to say is pretty simple. If you don't want part of PVP or PK's or anything remotely related to it, then DON'T go to Felucca! They may be ****heads, but frankly they're entitled to be so if they choose.. That is THEIR karma.. Everybody (and I agree) keeps saying UO is so great because you can play it YOUR way, but when these guys play it their way, then it's all of a sudden just wrong... Ehhmmm... I know standards is a good thing (I heavily support standards.... especially in programming languages, but that's another topic! ;) ), but double standards is not double as good!

And if people/EMs couldn't have imagined this would happen walking on THEIR (the PKs) terf...... then they haven't learned much from history or UO history!

End of rant!

PS. In no way do I support D!, but I support their right to play the game how they want! If they shouldn't be able to do what they did, then someone should change the rules of the game......

The problem is that people asked several times to keep a event in Felucca too.
The EMs gave it a shot. I knew this would happen but i hoped i was wrong. But now this one guild will made it sure there will not be any event in Felucca for a long time, if ever. And that ruins it all for the good people who do life in Felucca.

It is not the first time that D! ruins or disturbs a event, even in Trammel.
This also was not just a "accidently" run in to some PKs. No this was a well organised plan to ruin the event and attack mostly defensless people who wanted to enjoy a seabattle where the rules where explain a long way infront.

Instead of trying to show people who rarely go to Felucca that there can be good things be done there they just push them further away. They only looked for easy targets.

10-12 vs 3 is not Player vs Player.
